Seafood at Ocean Basket Newcastle

I want to commend Ocean Basket for the way they handled a recent issue I experienced with one of my orders. I initially had a very serious concern, and what stood out to me was how the team responded. Nobody accused me of lying, became defensive, argued with me, or tried to dismiss my concerns. Instead, they were kind, understanding, apologetic, and genuinely interested in finding out what happened. What impressed me even more was that the owner personally took the time to call me, apologise and make sure the situation was properly addressed. Mistakes can happen in any business. What really matters is how a company responds when something goes wrong. You can either fight with the customer, or you can listen, investigate, take the concern seriously and try to make things right. Ocean Basket did exactly that. I really appreciate the way the entire situation was handled, and I respect a business that puts customer care ahead of being defensive. Five stars from me, not because nothing went wrong, but because of how they handled it when something did. Thank you to the Ocean Basket team for listening, caring and making things right. (And Zama is an amazing waitress, she is fun, sweet and full of life)

service I will not lie.First time but it's not my last for sure

We ordered online and were greatly surprised. The food came quickly and was delicious! Our previous visit was not good, but the restaurant is under new management and we were very satisfied!

Good value with consistent quality & service, I recommend this is for great value, quality & service.

Ocean Basket has definitely got its training right as in every outlet we have been to the food, service and overall experience is always excellent. Great choice and fast service but you are not rushed. Helpful and friendly staff and there always seems to be a manager keeping the place ticking.

We were recommended this restaurant and others by our B&B host. When we arrived, they warned us that there might be a load shedding power cut (rife in SA at the time)in 45 minutes. We took the risk...

We went to have the famous fish and chips and had a lovely evening. The Waitrons were very friendly, the meal was very tasty and the restaurant was clean and enjoyed the evening.

Went there for sushi. Although they do not offer hand rolls, the rest of the menu offers good variety. Waiting slightly longer than one would expect, but the sushi was very fresh and therefor worth the wait.
